This mountain bike tour explores the colonial villages that lie in the heart of the Andean mountains. This tour is geared for cyclists who want to trace their way along century old roads that connect these villages and experience some great single track descents.
The savanna surrounding Bogotá is a special place: It is a huge plateau, a very calm landscape filled with green pastures and flanked by dramatic mountains. Our mountain bike tour trip, ranked easy to intermediate, is one of the best ways to area of Colombia to the fullest. You will be surprised more than a few times as the scenery will change multiple time over the course of the tour.
Our final destination is the beautifully preserved pueblo of Villa de Leyva. We will return to Bogotá with a good deal of knowledge of the savanna and the campesinos in the area.

THE ROAD TO ADVENTURE
- Day 1: Arrival Bogota
We will pick you up from the airport and do a short transfer to the village of Nemocon.- Day 2: Savanna
Today’s ride will be for the most part on the Savanna landscape. Rolling hills, small valleys, and interesting single track sections will keep the day interesting. There is a mezmerizing sharp contrast of the green hills and the yellow soil of the trails and roads. Distance: 28 kilometres Altitude gain: 600 metres.- Day 3: Nemocon
Today’s ride is about transition. In the morning we ride in the mountains but by afternoon we will find ourselves in the Candelaria desert. That the night we will stay in one of the best preserved colonial monasteries in Colombia. Distance: 54 kilometres Altitude gain: 800 metres.- Day 4: Candelaria desert
The heart of the day’s short stage today is a panoramic view of the Candelaria desert. This ecosystem is a kaleidoscope of colours – red, yellow, and orange hills will bedazzle you. In the afternoon we will descend into the beautiful town of Villa de Leyva. Distance: 25 kilometres Altitude gain: 500 metres.- Day 5: Villa de Leyva
Villa de Leyva is a beautiful town, but it also also happens to be one of the best places to ride your mountain bike in Colombia. In our last day we will climb a mountain that tower over the village. You will be rewarded with amazing views and a challenging single track descent. Distance: 30...
